About Us
The Carpenter Hospice is a dedicated team of caring volunteers and staff. The Hospice provides individuals who are dying, and their families, with high quality palliative care in a home-like setting meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs and making the last days of their lives together peaceful, comfortable and meaningful.
Professional nursing care 24 hours a day, personal support, companionship, bereavement and spiritual support are integrated in our home-like setting. The Hospice is open to Burlington residents, their immediate family members and residents of the surrounding area. Individuals must be in need of hospice care and in the last weeks to months of life.
The Carpenter Hospice is a 10 bedroom, 7,500 square foot home built in a quiet setting in the heart of Burlington. This home was built entirely from donations from the residents and businesses of Burlington and opened on May 25, 2002. Since opening, the Hospice has served hundreds of families and has become a vital part of our community. The opportunity to come and live at The Carpenter Hospice is not based on financial ability and there is no user fee. The hospice is dependent on the generosity of the community and fundraising for the majority of its operation revenue.
