Spiritual Care – How to Connect

Group Support
Carpenter Hospice offers Self-Compassion programming through its self-compassion circles.

Self-Compassion Circles
This group is open to individuals with illness, caregivers and the bereaved. It is a place to gather and practise self-compassion together. Self-compassion involves treating yourself as you would a good friend. Instead of ignoring or judging your emotions, recognize this difficult time and extend comfort and care for yourself. Participants learn aspects of self-compassion through theory, wellness interventions, mind/body practices and reflection.

The Self-Compassion Circle is a set of six sessions guided by a facilitator. There are two follow-up check-in sessions once the group has ended. If you are interested in participating in a Self-Compassion Circle, contact: Nina Page RP, Spiritual Care Coordinator by email at
